Launched in Novermber 2016 and sunsetted November 2019, Mach was NBC News’ home for coverage of science, tech, and the future. Scientist George Church is attempting to use gene editing tool CRISPR to bring back the wooly mammoth. But why?
What does it take to go into space? Mach’s “Making of an Astronaut” series aimed to find out. In this piece, we tag along with astronaut Jessica Meir (who is currently in space) as she does run in NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Lab.
